ATHENS, NY — Greene County Solid Waste Management will be holding its annual Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection event 8 a.m.-1 p.m. June 24 at the Greene County Highway Department facility, 67 Scott Lane, Athens, NY. This event is funded by the Greene County Legislature and is eligible for a 50% reimbursement grant through New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
County residents are asked to come to the site during a time period based on the first letter of their last name so traffic can be spread out evenly during the morning. Scheduled times are as follows. If the first letter of your last name begins with A-F, 8-9 a.m.; G-K, 9-10 a.m.; L-P, 10-11 a.m.; Q-U, 11-noon; and V-Z, noon-1 p.m.

A meeting of the Halcott Land Use Code Update Committee will take place Thursday, June 8 at 7PM in conjunction with a workshop meeting of the Town Board to review draft updates of Halcott Land use Code at the Town Grange, 264 Route 3 Halcott, NY.
