The Republican and Democratic parties of the Town of Halcott are both meeting at 7PM on July 17th after the monthly Town Board meeting, separately, as caucuses to put together slates for the town offices to be voted on in November.
Dear Friends: The Land Use Code Update Committee met with the Town Board on Thursday, June 8 to present the work done so far on both the Land Use Code and the Halcott Comprehensive Plan. It was an excellent meeting in which not only the proposed changes were discussed, but also the timing of different events that need to happen before the Board can consider adoption of the updates. This is a lengthy process and will include a public hearing, a period for public comment and other steps regulated by the State.
The June 19th monthly meeting is the target date for the Town Board to discuss these proposed changes among ourselves. Linked below is the proposed update to the Comprehensive Plan that will be useful for this discussion. Two board members cannot make the June meeting and therefore the remaining Board members will meet briefly on June 19th to sign vouchers and then immediately to vote to adjourn the monthly meeting until the following Monday, June 26th. No other business will be done at this June 19th meeting.
