NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING: TOWN OF HALCOTT

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a public hearing on the preliminary budget of the Town of Halcott will be held on October 17, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. at the Town of Halcott Grange Hall, Halcott Center, N.Y. Regular Town Board meeting to follow. A copy of the preliminary budget is available at the town clerk’s office where it may be inspected. The proposed salaries are Town Board Member $850.00, Town Supervisor $4,000.00, Town Clerk $5,000.00, Highway Superintendent $52,500.00.

The Town Board reviewed the 2023 tentative budget and agreed to present it, without substantive change as the preliminary budget.  It is attached here:

Where’s chairs?

Dear Friends All: The Grange Hall chairs have been slowly disappearing. Our guess is that they are borrowed for events and when returned, some of them get inadvertently left at home.  Please, please, if you have any stray chairs that belong to the Town, please return them. For one thing, we need to be able to offer others the use of what we suppose the number of chairs to be. It causes great difficulty when people find out at the last minute that what they had counted on to be available, isn’t.

Book launch at the Grange!

I have rescheduled my live launch for Saturday, September 24th, at 4:30 PM, at The Grange, up here in the Catskill Mountains: 264 County Route 3, Halcott Center, NY.
I hope to see my neighbors (some of whom will be guest readers!!) as well as a few intrepid souls who wander up, lured by the book and by the fall foliage. It will be a very relaxed affair, friendly, with refreshments.
