Peg DiBenedetto, born and raised in Halcott, daughter of Ruth and Ward Reynolds, has a story to tell. Her most recent book Silver Dollar Girls is a delightful piece of fiction based on the World War II experiences of her mom. She will speak about her book at the Skene Memorial Library in Fleischmanns, on Saturday, September 30 at 1pm. Attached is a flyer with more details. Like her mother, Peg has painted life with her own extraordinary feats. Just to sit and listen to her is a treat that will set you smiling for days. Enjoy!

Ted Johnson, Chairman
TOWN OF HALCOTT PLANNING BOARD
Meeting of July 5, 2023
Present: Ted Johnson, Andy Kelder, Mark Vogler, Nancy Reynolds
Absent: Adina Johnson
Others: Andrew Camarata, Surveyor Victor Fairbairn, David Grossman, Vicky Carpenter,
Dave Carpenter, John Dobsa, Patty George
Chariman Johnson opened the meeting with the pledge to the flag at 6PM.
Andrew Camarata inquired about the need for a site review and building permit for his existing travel trailer on his property off Bouton Road. He had not looked into these requirements prior to bringing his trailer onto his property so there are no approvals in place. When the Code Enforcement Officer checked out the situation he determined that site review was required due to the apparent permanent placement of the trailer and the fact that a deck was built. Upon discovering that there are exemptions for travel trailers when they are used for travel purposes and stored on private property, Mr. Camarata stated that he was going to remove the trailer temporarily to go on vacation. After discussion it was decided that we would like to have more input from the CEO before making any decisions about the matter. Motion to refer back to CEO was made by N. Reynolds, seconded by T. Johnson, unanimously approved.
Application forms and survey maps were presented by V. Fairbairn for a minor subdivision of property owned by Turkey Ridge Associates, Turkey Ridge Road Road, Tax ID #158-4-1.1. A 265.44 parcel will be divided into 2 lots of 209.25 acres and 56.19 acres. All maps and paperwork were reviewed; public hearing will be held at 6PM on August 2, 2023.
Motion to accept minutes of the 5/3/23 meeting was made by A. Kelder, seconded by M. Vogler, unanimously approved.
Correspondence: None
